Debra Daniels, LCSW

Widely respected throughout Utah for her 25 years of public service, Debra has directed the University of Utah Women’s Resource Center for the past four years. Her clinical and administrative leadership roles include three years as clinical director of the Rape Recovery Center, six years as Assistant Executive Director of the YWCA of Salt Lake City, and nine years administering Utah’s largest battered women’s shelter and transitional housing program for low-income women. In addition, Debra co-developed a suite of violence prevention programs, provided therapy to juvenile sex offenders, and facilitated communication workshops. She received her Master of Social Work from the University of Utah in 1984.

April Walters Goddard, MPA

April’s 18 years of social service experience includes direct service with battered women, pregnant teens, at-risk girls, and developmentally disabled youth. After directing a teen pregnancy and abusive relationship education program for four years, she developed a new relationship violence prevention program for adolescents. She and Debra co-founded Umoja in 1994 to continue their collaboration in preventing relationship violence and building healthy relationship skills. April received her Master of Public Administration from the University of Utah, where she currently works, in 1998.
